Michigan's lumbering era, 1870-1900, is interpreted at the Hartwick Pines Lumbering Museum amid one of the state's last remaining stands of virgin white pine. Exhibits and period rooms present the stories of the loggers, rivermen, millhands, foremen and entrepreneurs. Visitors can walk a paved trail through the pine forest.
